I love when couples plan weekend getaways for their closest loved ones. Shannie & Ryan planned a wedding weekend full of hiking, swimming, and general fun-having in northern California and invited me along for the ride. By the end of the wedding day itself, I’d almost felt like part of the family. It’s times like this that really make me step back and do a double take on what it is that I’m lucky enough to do for a living. Being a part of this weekend filled my heart to the brim with love, and even though this wedding was over a year ago, I still find myself wanting to catch up with these two and their families (and in fact, I get to see them next month!) New friends. Definite perk of this whole wedding photographer thing.
One of the most memorable parts of the day was the ceremony. The couple chose to have their friends and family sit in a semi-circle around them and at one point, everyone stood up for a reading. I will never forget the look on Shannie’s & Ryan’s faces as they looked around at everyone they loved while listening to the group reading. If I could bottle up that feeling, I would be an incredibly wealthy woman.
